Visit to R.F.D.S Base
The wet weather failed to deter the enthusiasm
of the Four Wheel Drive group that attended the outing at Jandakot to
visit the R.F.D.S (Royal Flying Doctor Service) centre.
Amanda Duggan was our host at the R.D.F.S
centre and she explained to us the running of the centre. After a video
and an outline of the Service's history, Amanda answered some questions
that were asked by the people from the different clubs. Before leaving
the auditorium, Greg Bremer handed over a cheque for $2183, which had
been raised by the clubs at the Lake Mason trip on Easter. With the
price tag on new planes being 5 million dollars, they need a lot of
money to make up the short fall that doesn't come from the government.
This is raised through donations and sponsors and every contribution
helps keep the Service running.
